As you all know Tim has the February tag up and running. I am determined to do all the tags and above is my February tag.
Again I didn't have everything that he used but I did have the ephemera pack! I stuck as close to his as I could to see if I could really do it and reign in my design. I love putting my own spin on things but it was a bigger challenge to stay the course! Check out his version here (Tim Tag). For the ribbon I used Distress Stains in Victorian Velvet and Vintage Photo. I also added stickers that spell LOVE
Art supply items I didn't have and what I used instead:
•Glue and Seal-I used matte Mod Podge
•The metal arrow-I used a SpareParts metal arrow
•The metal corner pieces-I used some from my stash.
•Black Distress Marker-I used a Copic
•Picket Fence DP-I used Gesso
•Flash Cards-I used TH fabric
•Mini Movers Heart die-I hand cut the heart
•A sewing machine-I hand stitched the little X's to the felt heart (my fingers are Red!)
•Red Felt-I used orange felt and sprayed it with LSG sprays.
See! Anyone can join in and use what they have. Lol! Happy crafting!

ReplyDeleteThanks little lady! It has been a fun last couple of weeks. I need to see your tag. We are 2 for 2! My DH and I are looking at house so that is taking up most of my spare time but it is really interesting to see so many. Happy Valetines Day missy!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Janine. We would need a huge yard fit for a Great Dane (we aren't getting one though) so my furry babies have room to run! So glad you liked the substitute section of this post! Hugz!
DeleteAwesome tag Niki! Love how you make it work with your work arounds! You have inspired me to work on my Tim tags! Love the red heart the best!
ReplyDeleteCongratz on house-hunting, so fun! Can't wait to hear your news!~kim
Thanks Kim! It sure is interesting how close I was able to replicate the tag without using all the products he used. The heart wasn't dry yet and today the white thread I used turned red. Oops. I am bursting at the seams to tell my exciting news!
