I really had to do things my way because I didn't have much of anything needed for the April Tim tag, although the base is a Kraft tag! Boo yeah! You can check his make HERE.
I did almost every (not the stitching) technique he showed but not exactly how he showed to do it. This will shock many of you but I don't have any, nope none, Distress Markers! What!! Yeppers. It is on my list but so are many other items. Hehe! So instead of using the DM, I just smooshed the Distress Ink pad on my craft mat, spritzed it with water and used a plain old paintbrush to create my "water color in my flower, the stem and the shadow. I also used it for my ribbon. This is a "new" technique for me as I have never done any water color type painting. Does it count? I think so.
There are so many supplies I didn't have but I think it looks close to the original, kinda, okay, sort of. I am just happy to have created something! Hugz! ~Niki

DeleteAwesome coloring, Niki! Yes, I would qualify that as watercoloring--welcome to my favorite art medium! It looks like you've been doing it all your life, Punkin! Love your take on Tim's tag! Doesn't artist block SUCK?? I've been having a mean case of it! Keep your eye out for a little brown envelope with Wilmington, NC as the return address...just sayin'..should be Saturday. I don't feel just right yet regarding my art but getting there. I think it is my job at the craft store, because I give ideas to customers and when I get home I am plum out of ideas. Know what I mean? Hugz to you muffin!
DeleteGoodness, Niki, you have had a ton of stuff going on, girl! I'm so glad that your mojo juices are flowing again! I think your tag is nothing short of sensational, especially considering that you used your imagination and smarts to think of ways to achieve the desired effects without all the fancy supplies! I'm mega impressed!! Enjoy the weekend!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThank you Darnell! You so sweet! I know you won't read this but I feel the need to reply to all comments on my blog. It was a tricky tag to do without the supplies but it was fun. :) Have a lovely day! Hugz!
