May Tim Tag 2015

I can't believe that it is May already and I have actually made all of the tags so far for the 12 tags of 2015. Two thumbs up for that right? You all know where to go to see the original, but if you don't click HERE

For every tag thus far, I have not had all the necessary supplies so I just use what I have. This tag is probably the closest to the original I have made to date. One thing I do want to point out is my burlap background. I hand cut it to fit on the Manila tag and, of course, it is fraying around the edge. If any of you lovely people know a trick to keeping burlap from fraying please let me know. :) And also my embossing paste in the upper left corner.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Thank you and a huge warm welcome, to my new followers! Carpe Diem! ~Niki

I would like to share this tag with these wonderful challenges:

  5. First of all, yes, two thumbs up and even high tens for making a tag for every month this year, Niki!! Just like the others, this one is a terrific take on Tim's!! I love all that texture! I'm not sure how to keep burlap from fraying. I'd say maybe burn around the edges to sort of cauterize it, but I'd do it on a cement block or the like, just in case the whole thing burnt up in a quick minute! Better yet, maybe attaching it to two-sided clear tape before then applying it to the manila background, which would stick the individual bits? Let us know if you find the answer! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

    1. I do like your fire idea Darnell, but I like fire. lol. I did read an article about pulling out a specific string from the burlap and this makes it so it won't fray but I haven't gotten the chance to try it yet. Hugz!

  8. Great tag Niki and I love the fraying, adds to the aged feel ☺ My tag will be fraying too since I'll be using burlap also and the only way I've ever managed to stop it from fraying was to use LOTS of fray stop. Wonder if matte medium would work?

  11. Hi, Punkin! I haven't been out much lately, but so happy to be able to stop in and visit with you about this creative May Tim tag! Frayed burlap...hmmmm...they should name a color line after that! Don't know what to tell you about that. IF I EVER get around to making mine, it, too will be fraying, as I'm not going to buy that texture paper pack for one tag! Sorry, Tim! I've got 6 mouths to feed!

LOVE your take on TT; it has a great composition and the pasted part is my favorite! Whoa! Is that REAL stitches?????
    Hugs and cookies!

    1. I agree, I didn't want to buy any supplies so used what I had on hand. So sweet of you to notice the stitching but it is a stamp that I got for free from a Facebook post. Hugz to you muffin!
