Here is my take.
I did all the techniques from the original but the only supply item I had that is the same as the original was the manila tag. Hehe!
I used some Distress Stain to create the mottled background and drops of H2O dripped off my finger to create the splats.
I used a wood grain stencil to create the plaid with Cracked Pistachio and Black Soot DI. The stencil is from the Mod Podge stickable stencils line.
I cut the burlap piece from my roll of burlap and inked the edges with Vintage Photo DI. For the #lifeisgood banner I used a piece of scrap, inked the edges and a set of alpha stamps and hand drew the hashtag. The "stitching" is a stamp.
Boom! Yeppers, I thought outside the Tim box for this entire tag. Awesome sauce!

For the coffee mug I used a real Starbucks cup. My dogs always get a Puppachino when they are with me at Starbucks. It was the perfect size to use with this tag. I just cut it in half. The picture below is in celebration my new puppy enjoying his first puppachino and also features the cup I used. Awwwww!
After I cut the cup I made a template onto some scrap paper and used coffee (Lol) Archival ink to blend my paper to look like espresso. I then used the same ink on the side of the cup. For the "caramel" drips I used Glossy Accents and a Copic marker.
After everything was dry I glued the cup to my tag and added the straw. I then colored hemp with Cracked Pistachio and added the Wonderful token because a caramel machiatto is absolutely Wonderful!!!! And so yummy!!!
And one more pic that shows the caramel drips. I always ask for extra caramel-wish they would sell the small bottles again. Sigh
Thanks for having a gander at my tag! Have an awesome weekend and go grab a cold one! Hugz and Carpe Diem! ~Niki

DeleteThis is SO clever - and the caramel is a touch of genius (plus you have an uber cute pooch!).
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you Katy! My puppy, Keen, is super adorable I have to agree. Lol

You so sweet Branka-kins! Glossy Accents is such a versatile product Keen would give you plenty of puppy kisses if you were near! Hehe! Hugz to you muffin!
DeleteHAHAHA!! Sorry Doc, don't mean to laugh but that photo of your little one drinking his Puppachino totally has me in stitches!! I just adore your tag, such an original take on Tim's theme and the caramel is pure genius!! I can totally start my day after this wonderful post has cheered me right up!! Awesome my friend! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI laughed to Bubbles! He had a mustache while he was "drinking" it. I tried to get a picture if that as well but he was too quick about cleaning his mouth. He is a proper dog and has lovely manners, sometimes, sort of, well, it is a work in progress. Seriously though, for a 7 month old puppy he is very well behaved. So glad to have made your day brighter! Hugz to you muffin!
DeleteYour tag is super cool!!! And so is your dog :)
ReplyDeleteLove the caramel. Really clever!
♥
Haha! Thank you Bibi! I have to agree about the pup. :)
DeleteSo glad that you joined us at The Mod Squad challenge this week with this clever tag. Very original and super cute. I didn't know that they gave Puppachino's out.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you again here.
I believe that every Sbucks I have been to gives the Puppachino out. Some of my friends in other states have to specifically ask for it though. And it is Free! Glad to have found Mod Squad!

DeleteGeesh! Where have I been??? Under a rock? Niki, you are just too much! Too much fun, too much sweet, too much creative! What a great take on the tag this month! I really love that you gave it a go without any of the supplies and came up with a winner, to boot! (I don't have a single product, either, and was wondering how to pull it off! May just have to throw in the towel, as I have cards needed out the ying yang this month!)
ReplyDeleteYour new puppy is just so sweet! I want to rub his tummy! And I know HE is a lucky pup to have his family! Hugs, Punkin'!
